I really enjoyed Gangster Squad as it contained so much action to keep you gripped.
I would have liked to see the gangster squad's individual characters more developed as I felt that as a viewer you only receive a brief overview on each of their lives, and although I understand it would have took a lot longer to give more background away I think the additional information could have made the characters more relatable. The best way I can explain it is by comparing it with the characters in Armageddon as each character in that film is given shared time which allows us to form some emotional attachment to them so that when something tragic happens in the film like a death, we feel a loss. Whereas Gangster Squad did not have this so I found as I was less attached to the characters I was less engrossed and involved in the plot.
